"Whiskey's for drinkin' and water's for fightin!" says Dan Hatfield

Dan_stream (Podcast)
Dan Hatfield returns to chat about water issues facing Texans, not only in the future, but today as well.

Texans use over 17 million acre feet of water each year, according to Dan, and he points out the looming fight between urban dwellers and rural folk over water is going to be a doozy.

He notes that the rapidly growing population coupled with the healthy Texas economy is a double-edged sword …and cautions that rural landowners had best tuck their fiercely independent pride into their hip pocket and join together to protect what water they have.

Distribution is the key to a successful water policy for the state and the issues are already a political hot potato.
